Connor fans, anyone? How about Andrew? Virtual season rec

We've just watched 'A New World'... feeling the Connor love...

I've already rec'd this in more detail over on BBF but I must share some more: I discovered a new virtual season: The Nyazian Prophecies [eta: alternative LJ link]. New as in, have inexplicably missed it until now. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cornerofmadness for rec'ing it. They're already up to episode 20 and, I was told, still going strong. I'm currently ploughing my way through the beginnings. Next: ep 4.

Plot! Good, witty dialogue! Really good characterization! Did I mention plot? Set at Stanford, Connor and Andrew, doing the buddy movie thing, with a few interesting OC besiders. What's not to love.

non-fandom stuff: I'm in love with my new gym. astridv/new_gym, theirloveissohealthy!!!1! They have several classes every day, so no more of that, "sorry, can't come to the movies, I got Thae-Bo class". And, working with the weights is fun and seems pretty effective, far as I can tell after just a few weeks. My back likes to tense up from drawing (okay, the internet doesn't help either) but this should help with that pesky stiff neck. I won't give up my yoga class, but they complement each other nicely. Plus, sauna! The only thing to make up for this sorry excuse for a summer. Very good investment, all in all. /non-fandom stuff

You think that the cut-
off width of the dialogue
lines is too short?

Like that? I can never decide myself. The lines in the older episodes look so long it was distracting to me, taking up half the page space.

No! I don't remember having any difficulies reading the first couple of eps, but like I said, the later ones are rather awkward to read at times, simply because of the line breaks. This is an example from an early one, ep 2:
*******************************

*****************************

I can't speak for anyone elso, of course, but for me it's much harder to 'hear' the dialogue in the second example. The length you used in the first example is the minimum, IMHO.

Thing is, the series is really well written, and it's a shame if such a thing as formatting should get less people to read it. There're already enough readers who won't tough anything written in script format. Though I think it's a valid alternative to prose form, and just as entertaining to read when done right.

Wow. I was so concerned with getting the html right that I overlooked about a hundred typos.

Those examples help. Thanks. I tend to go shorter myself, trying to emulate the ME shooting scripts.
