Okay, I said I wouldn't post, just a few things before I try to concentrate on work...

the bad: f*ck Perl, §%$"/&§.cgi scripts *stabz*

the good: 'Bones' got picked up. :o) Not that I'm into forensics shows... or cop shows... or any show unless it has vampires and is written by Joss Whedon. Still, the description sounds not bad. Though when I see the promo pic, my mind can't get past the 'wwaah I miss my show... he could be playing Angel instead!!1!'.

in conclusion: cgi sucks. or I suck. At least at perl. And I haven't worked enough today.

Besides, I believe we've all forfeited our souls when we started to write The Evil Fan Fiction, according to Lee Goldberg and his cabal, and the fanfic-savvy parents. (Prime wank, that one!)

It pretty much leaves me cold what new jobs the actors from Angel and Buffy gets. Understand me right, I would like all of them to get new and interesting jobs, but it was the characters that I was interested in not the persons that played them. I have the same way with most artistic expression, for example am I not particularly interested in a writers political opinion or the writer authorial intent.
About Perl which I know next to nothing, but I do know that on my friendlist is ludditerobot, he is a professional programmer and of his five favourite books are one about programming in Perl. You could perhaps ask him if you are stuck, not that I can say that I know him well, but he seems friendly enough and he writes BtVS fanfic too.

Sigh. Unfortunately I feel the same way. Usually, when I'm really into a show I even avoid watching the actors in other roles so as not to mess with the fantasy. I'm gonna make a rare exception in this case, 'cuz, well, the yumminess factor (/moment of shallowness). I really want to like this new show, but I'm not gonna watch it unless it really clicks with me. And those shows are rare indeed.

perl: I don't know ludditerobot at all, so I can't really bug him with something that'll take days to fix, at least. I'm gonna have a friend come over this weekend, who knows his way around perl. I've already tried a few obvious approaches myself but I don't know Perl at all, so all I can do is surf the surface and follow instructions, and as soon as that doesn't work, I run into a wall because I can't dig to the root of the problem. Very frustrating!

ich bins barbara. Du wolltest ja unbedingt einen Kommentar von mir damit du weißt, dass ich dagewesen bin, also: bei der Stelle, wo du erwähnst, das du Harry potter auf japanisch liest, musste ich echt schreien!! Typisch Du!!! Aber insgesamt ist das hier eine interessante Website. Ich antworte lieber in Deutsch , weils schneller geht. Leider konnte ich mich noch nicht für Buffy und etc. begeistern... also kann ich nicht ganz mitreden. Werde aber ab und zu mal wieder reinschauen um zu erfahren, was du so treibst. Hat Birgit eigentlich auch so eine Seite ?? Vielleicht sollte ich mal für Mütter ein ähnliches Journal eröffnen... oder ich suche jetzt mal, ob es so eins bereits gibt ( Unterhaltung über die besten Erziehungsmethoden...)

Ha! Sach nix, es ist eine unglaublich effektive Lernmethode. Okay, man kann nicht unbedingt den ganzen neuen Wortschatz brauchen ('double-ended newt' oder 'self-spelling wand' auf Japanisch, na ja...) aber alles in allem bin ich total überrascht wie gut man sich einliest. Bin schon auf Seite 101. :o) Und es ist noch so gut wie nichts passiert. Rowlings Bücher lassen sich wirklich recht behäbig an.

Würde mich wundern, wenn es so was noch nicht gibt. Auf Englisch jendenfalls. Mußt mal gucken, irgendwo gibt es eine Suchfunktion nach Stichworten. Livejournal ist schon klasse, man muß nur darauf achten, daß man sich nicht ganz und gar einsaugen läßt. (Im Moment besteht da für mich wenig Gefahr... Arbeit, stöhn).
