Working around the new!improved!genius! comment layout

Following an advice from this post I switched my journal to one of the Minimalism layouts (link here). Looks good so far - subject lines, comment preview and spell check are back as long as I view everything in that style. As soon as I switch to format=light, it's back to the improved!new!layout, so that's out. Haven't tested yet how Minimalism works out for longer comment threads.

eta: text is still too small though. Must see if there's a fix for that.

Yeah, I still use Scrapbook too, even though the crappy piece of shit actually deleted some of my pictures during one of its glitches! But photobucket or such is no real alternative because they degrade images (even if you pay them, someone on my flist experienced that with a paid photobucket account even though they were well below limits). And then there is the immense pain that would come from editing all the posts manually.

Also for the kink memes I need the larger number of subscriptions to follow, though that might change soonish with this subject line disaster, if that finally causes the comment memes to move.

And of course I have a large number of icons I'm quite attached to, but that matters less and less to me, the less time I spend on the site.

Yeah, it happens far too often that you settle somewhere and then the service pulls the rug out under you. I could put things in my own webspace, but it's tedious to store and browse photos there (though I do put my art there), and since my webhost is one of the cheap, crappy ones, it's not always that reliable either. Not to mention that while it has nominally "unlimited traffic included" in the hosting of course that is a lie and there is fine print about taking up disproportionate amount of resources in the TOS, so who knows when they'll decide to throttle things or such if I use it for too much.
