Horses! And ponies!

This morning I got my illustrator's copy for last year's "Horses and Ponies" book, formerly known as the Project of Doom. The Doom part was because I'd calculated the project for two months when it took three, at seven days a week. Fun times.

Just preliminary pics. I have to wait with the proper photos for my gallery until the sun decides to peek out from behind the clouds. It has to happen eventually, right? Sigh.

Screw the weather, I'm going to the sauna today. The plan was to go buildering but looking at the weather radar I don't know if that's gonna happen.
...
Speaking of, [personal profile] rydra_wong just posted a video with some first-class buildering.

And in case you missed yesterday's Writer's Block question on the LJ homepage:
LJ Writers Block question:
What is your favorite foreign film? Do you think there should be an American remake?

That's so adorable. I wanted to answer that my favorite foreign film is Groundhog Day. :P
But I couldn't decide because I also love The Nightmare Before Christmas, and oh, so many others, I just can't pick just one.

Wow, that's a lot of horses you had to draw!

And I guess with LJ belonging to SUP now, only Russian and Soviet films wouldn't be eligible for that question, no?
ratcreature: Heh. RatCreature is amused. (heh.)

I never had a horse infatuated phase. My best friend from when I was ten to fifteen however had her own pony, and much of her free time was arranged around that horse, which also took some extra effort, what with us being in the middle of the city, and the horse way out in some rural suburb. So mostly I was somewhat jealous of that animal, because she doing horse stuff all the time...

Wow, that is a beautiful book! Just the sort I'd love to own, to pore over each individual horse and lift up all the flaps. How gorgeous.

Looks great! I can see it took a lot of work, getting the pictures to fit behind the fold-ups. I think you're really good at drawing kids who look like kids and not small grown-ups.
