vid rec, linkage, plus fanart update (still WIP)

Pic of the two guys with little critter, now with some color slapped on but still lacking a background. I want to try blending a photoshopped screencap with this drawing, so I gotta find a suitable screencap of the gate room from the right perspective. But considering it's past 4 am already, I'll save that for later. preview )

linkage: Photoshop tutorial for comic book effect

I was stumbling around Photoshop, trying to make a background using this comic effect tutorial, which I'd been meaning to try out for ages. I finally managed to locate the posterize filter in my PS (which is unfortunately in German). It should come handy in the future... pretty sure it's not that useful for backgrounds though... hm. Anyway, I'm about to draw the background the old-fashioned way and just use computer for the wormhole effect, but just for fun I ran the foreground through the filter, too. Looks... interesting? Huh. )

fanart (now finished (I think))

I tried something different with this one, combining a hand-painted scene with a photoshopped background. It didn't end up at all the way I intended... at some point it took a sharp turn and I just kinda went with it. The result is possibly a bit heavy on the FX, and boy, next time I'll go back to drawing and painting the background the traditional way because it's about thirty times faster. But I like it.
