I felt compelled to make a mini-* Mustang pic spam.
*okay, it was supposed to be just five pics or so but I got carried away...

Here's the thing: I never quite understood how one could crush on a cartoon character. Suffice to say I get it now. :)

I can't find a good-quality raw for 107. I have a raw but the quality isn't good enough for me to even attempt to decypher the text. (I'm unspoiled, no comments on the chapter if you've read it! [eta: read it!] Except, is this really the penultimate chapter? I'd kinda been hoping that we'd get this one and two more.)

Is this Fullmetal Alchemist? I've heard about it but never tried to watch or find out more. Are you watching the anime?

Yeah, that's Fullmetal Alchemist. I only heard of it before but had no idea what it was about.

This started out as just an excercise in Japanese, I never expected to fall in love with the show. Both plot and characters are very complex (I'm told that's the rule for anime but I've never watched any before.) And I love the art! Look how pretty! :) I've checked out a couple more anime since then but the art in those wasn't my thing.


I'm both watching the anime and reading the manga. The anime follows the manga closely but they leave out details here and there, so checking out the manga is really worth it. If you're interested, check my reply to lo_rez below for links to the manga and the anime. They're translated by fans in excellent quality. :)

Thank you so much for this! I've seen neither manga nor anime, only read a few fanfic stories, and I'm already more than fond of Riza Hawkeye.

Totally. For values of "crush" that, basically, mean "be fannishly interested in extrapolation, interpolation, and all the other -ations that amount to us loving fictional characters enough to make our own stories about them." Amazing (to me) but true. FMA is the first-ever animated work on my DVD wishlist. Probably not the last, though. Thanks for a great post!

I'm hoping for a shiny DVD box set with the complete show and hopefully lots of extras. Riza is amazing. Actually all the characters in this huge ensemble are really well written and fleshed out. And there is no shortage of women who kick ass.
