Ah! Thank you, this is much better!

The other day I fiddled around for ages with my LJ layout and layers. Blah. I decided to give up and just write my own stylesheet.

I'm amused how everybody's obsessed with prettifying their journal here as a first order of business. :) And I am too! It just goes a long way toward usability to have everything displayed just the way I like.
