A Dog's Breakfast / more crossposted fic recs / DW style question

Yesterday I was feeling weirdly blah all day, and I didn't get any work or fanart done. I think the sudden drop in temperature sent my body in some sort of proto-hibernation. So in the evening I gave up and popped in my DVD of A Dog's Breakfast, which I hadn't gotten around to watching. I must say, I really liked it! The blah mood evaporated. It's got some very funny lines. And I found myself liking the characters. (From the scenes I'd seen, I somehow expected to dislike them a lot... more like Seinfeld, which I liked to watch even though I disliked every one of those characters.)

Definitely worth buying the DVD! It's got a load of extras and behind-the-scenes stuff, too. And practically all the cast are Stargate actors. Anyway, on my way to the gym just now I got hit with an idea for A Dog's Breakfast fanart. :O)

Why rec'd: This story is great fun! A fascinating Spy!AU that's plausible in itself, with pitch-perfect characterizations and gripping plot. Rodey and Teyla make a great team, and Ronon and John are quite mysterious. I love how it all plays out in the end. I'd read more in this verse!

Why can't I change the colors for my Dreamwidth style? When I go to the customize page, I just can't find that pull-down menu people keep talking about, where I can enter a new color.

But I seem to be a bit dense when it comes to this stuff. Yesterday I tried for an eternity to change my LJ layout so it would show a picture at the top, but when I finally managed to do that, it turned my lovely journal colors baby blue and it wouldn't let me change them back manually on the customize page. I mean, I did change them there, but without any effect.

The thing is, right now the DW styles are not standardized, so I think not all have the same options in the same place. But you are using Transmogrified and that should have a color menu. If you go to http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/ you are on the "Select a theme" page there you have Transmogrified selected, then beneath that selected theme is a "customize" link, that is also available in the box on the reight upper side. That link goes to http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/options.bml and then on that page there is a menu sidebar that first has "Display" then beneath that "Style" and then beneath that "Modules" and so on. The color options are a subsection under "Style", so you click that and come to a screen where you can set colors.

Thanks! I'm indeed dense when it comes to these things. It never occurred to me that I had to click on 'style'.
