Writercon / looking for a roommate
Has anyone on my flist already decided if they want to go to Writercon? (I already know that ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
greyias, sgatazmy, and deepad are coming, too! :)
Writercon is a convention for fan writers, organized by fan writers. (As such, the admittance fee is very reasonable, too.) I haven't gone to any Writercon yet, but friends have and reported back a great time. As I understand it, the panels and workshops cover the range from fannish topics and writing in general to prowriting (somebody correct me if I'm wrong).
Here is the list of folks who already signed up. I'm happy to recognize several Stargate fans on there. :)
On the same topic, is anybody looking for a roommate? I already I went ahead and reserved a bed at the nearby(?) hostel in town so I have a guaranteed roof over my head and don't have to pressure myself with the roommate search, but if you too are looking for someone to share a room with at the Radisson, drop me a line? (Don't smoke, don't snore (I think).)
The other day roomie bought a package of pumpkin seeds. For some reason those on the wellness shelf were cheaper than those from the dried-fruit-and-nuts section, so she got the wellness seeds, and they came with a shiny package insert. She read it to me out loud and we were laughing so hard, it dislodged some of the gunk from my clogged bronchi. (Healing with humor)
re. my recent rec of Macedon's fic:minisinoo found a new working link for his site, Macedon's Taberna. It hosts all his DS9 and Voyager fic, and his meta essays.
I'm almost finished with another handmade thing for the handmade meme. Except now I kinda like it so much that I almost want to keep it for myself. I may compromise and make a copy.

I'm guessing the people who write these things tune out mentally. (I mean, I once realized I'd lettered a whole page of a really brainless comic, all the while listening to the telly and having a conversation, and when I proofread the page there was no typo - but I had no idea what I'd written.)
