I found out that I could get my return flight changed without too much trouble so I'm going to Writercon after all! Whew. I'm glad that worked out. That con isn't even happening every year and I've never gone before; seems like a wasted opportunity not to go while I'm in the country at the exact same time. Now, gotta look into accomodation...

And I'll stay in San Diego for a couple of days after Comic Con so I'll have time to learn how to surf. Or at least time to fall off a surf board a lot. Ironically that was my original plan all along. (Well, not the falling off the board part.)

I am SO TEMPTED by Writercon... I've never been to a con, and it's one of those things I'd love to do. I wonder if I could stretch my budget to it? Do they still have places available, do you know?

You mean con ticktes? I just got mine. I don't know if they have an attendance limit at all? It just said something about early bird tickets being sold out. The current deal is IIRC 76$ (until April 1, then it gets a little more expensive).

I still have to look into finding a room. And a roommate. :) But it's still early and it sounds like many people are just in the process of making up their minds. Should be early enough to find something.

I've never been myself, but judging from people's con reports it's a lot of fun, with interesting panel topics. Also, very affordable, since it's all fan-organized.
