Indelible by

McKay/Sheppard; NC-17; 129,000 words (yes, very very long. And so worth it, every word of it!)
Summary: John has a useful gift for compartmentalization: he discards the irrelevant and moves on. Then Rodney makes an ill-considered move on a mission, John steps up to take responsibility for making reparations to the locals, and things take a turn for the complicated as Rodney, an alien society, and an armada of ships make standard operating procedure completely impossible.
This story is epic, one of the very best fics I read last year. Excellent, original plot that makes the most not just of the characters but of Atlantis itself; an intensely deep John POV that's always spot on; an OC who makes a very interesting addition to the cast and blends like she always belonged... simply fantastic.
Spirits of the Dead by
kodiak_bear
Gen; PG-13; Characters: Sheppard, team, Lorne, OCs; h/c; Spoilers through S5 Whispers; 28,000 + words
Good plotfic with a fascinating look into Pegasus culture, one the show doesn't offer: the Hoffan plague rages through the galaxy, and the people hit by it do what they must to survive.

halfamoon, a fourteen day challenge celebrating female characters in fandom, they got The Unpopular Woman Love Post -- there's a thread for sharing the Jennifer Keller love (and, fic recs and the like...)
eta: some fans are somehow mistaking "sharing the love" with "airing the grievances" (which at this point doesn't even surprise me any more). So, y'know... beware of a bit of anti-squee even in that post. (so rude...)

But did you notice how certain people can't even stop from bitching about her in places that are dedicated to be 100% bitching-free? It's getting absurd. They're just so RUDE.
I think I'm gonna try to pick the Keller category at ficrecs soon as I can... so, soon as I have enough stories lined up to rec. If you know of any good Keller stories that haven't been rec'd there yet, I'd love to hear them. I think I still might need one or two for my set of four.

I'll keep my eye out! :) I may even go looking actually. I've been afraid to click on a story not otherwise recced for fear it'll do something horrible to to the character. Oh! Have you read this one? Story of My Life (http://busaikko.slashcity.org/?p=131) by

Me too!
But, yesterday I found a nice one that fits the bill (the one rec'd at Keller Daily) so I have at least three already. I should go and sign up.

but... I'm sort of glad that you say it's *not* just in the Jennifer thread (I didn't read most of the others).

It's just frustratingly unfair; it seems like characters who don't get much squee (well, their fans, really) ought to deserve a negativity-free squee post even more than the rest! The whole thing didn't make me feel more squeeful about unpopular characters I like; it just reinforced the negativity, IMHO, if even the characters' fans can't seem to come up with nice things to say about them.
