p.s. I just watched 'Remnants' with my housemate, and she was all "Yes! Awesome episode! So didn't see that coming! Poor John!! What a great ep!" Yay, that's what I was looking for, baby. That was the kind of reaction I was hoping to find online. That episode ROCKED.
Sorry, got carried away. Heh. :)

I love that comic--so exciting! And beautifully drawn.

Remnants FREAKED ME OUT! The whole amputation thing, and I really hate Kolya. Gah! That was a lot of whumping for one poor Sheppard! And the adorableness of AI Radek! And Anna Galvin! TS shout-out! :) Everyone was great in it--such a cool ep.

I'm glad the brought Kolya back... I though Irresponsible was such gratuitous waste of a good villain.

Remnants FREAKED ME OUT! The whole amputation thing,

Yeah, me too. I was unspoiled except for the fact that Kolya would make a reappearance. I did not see the amputation coming, and once it did I was about 90 percent convinced that it'd all turn out to be a hallucination or virtual reality, and the other 10 percent of me were freaked out because I didn't think it completely unfeasable they'd go there. I mean, they could've left him like that and found a fix with some *handwave* Ancient machinery or other, or sewed the hand back on. I was actually glad that it turned out to be not real.

I just love how John single-mindedly tortures himself, while Rodney really wants Radek to call him brilliant. Oh, Rodney. :)

And even after the thing with Kolya and Woolsey's dream woman (who I suspected to be not real pretty much right from the start) I was still completely fooled by Radek and the communiqué from earth.

I hated Irresponsible, ugh. I have a whole Lucius rant that I'll be kind and not foist upon you. *g*

Kolya gives me the serious creeps. I can't remember if I was spoiled for him, or not--if he was in the previews, I would have been, but I'm thinking I wasn't. And I was rolling along, thinking, here comes the team, any minute now, gonna save him and stop this, just any moment, now, gee, it's getting close, when are they--OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!!! I was kind of stunned, and, yeah, thinking they were going to give him a new hand, maybe, and make Skywalker jokes. Whump is one thing, but the level of suffering they put him through, wow. And then to tell him, "You torture yourself every day," just, man. And imagine the fen-flailing if they'd included that line about his mother, after all that. *g* I caught on to Radek when I realized he kept feeding ideas to Rodney, never spoke to anyone else, etc. The dream woman was probably my first catch, but I don't remember why, now. Loved John's smile at the end when they realized Rodney'd been fooled, too. :) Just a great ep, overall, though parts of it still give me the willies to think about. But that's not a bad thing.

I hated Irresponsible, ugh.

I think everyone does? Even Mallozzi, the guy who wrote it, doesn't sound terribly impressed with that one.

(I was quite relieved when I found out that it was Mallozzi who'd written Remnants - after Whispers, I'd feared the worst for next year's movie, now I'm more optimistic.)

Loved John's smile at the end when they realized Rodney'd been fooled, too. :)

Also, that dark look of utter miffed-ness he throws the AI back in the gateroom...

And imagine the fen-flailing if they'd included that line about his mother, after all that. *g*

Oh, interesting. What was that line? I miss most of Joe M.'s blog posts... the guy's way too prolific to keep up with.

Yeah, he's...not my favorite writer, for sure. In Irresponsible, he tries to turn a rapist into a lovable rogue, and for Whispers he was so proud of having so aptly mimicked the horror film genre by creating a team of pretty females to be menaced by the monsters! Like you do! Ugh. Not who I wanted to see write the movie. But, who knows. If he can do Remnants, there's hope.

Also, that dark look of utter miffed-ness he throws the AI back in the gateroom...

Ha! That combination of freaked out/pissed off/emotionally bruised/totally confused? That was classic Sheppard. Ah, Joe's face. :)

The AI was going to say something like, "What happened to your mother wasn't your fault." Canon fodder like whoa! *g* The stories, the stories. But some have gone ahead and run with it, like eleveninches did here: http://eleveninches.livejournal.com/357307.html Oh, man, it is to hoot. :)
