As is often the case, meteomedia and Wetter Online are somewhat contradicting themselves, but it almost looks like we might get some snow on the weekend. Though it's probably just gonna be three or four snowflakes, which will somehow manage to bring all traffic to a grinding halt. Still, better than this constant fizzling rain.

book report: Only three double-spread pages and one cover left to do. I shall ink two of them today. I could be done with this thing in a week. Six days, if all goes well. I'm so looking forward to two or three free days.

Fic recs later, but I found this while procrastinating at cakewrecks: failblog. To better serve your procrastinating needs.

I use wetter.de but I am so not ready for snow. Heck, I'm not even ready for Christmas being in about 4 weeks. *panics*

Cakewrecks is hilarious. I wasted hours there. LOL

Oh, wetter.de is shiny. I like their little animated thundershower. Ah. They, too, think that it's going to snow this weekend.

Ever since my family and I decided not to "do" Christmas, it has become a lot more relaxed. ;)

I like that the "Wetter-Alarm" has the whole country flashing in red right now.

Hm, maybe we should do that too. But then maybe not... I want presents. LOL

...which will somehow manage to bring all traffic to a grinding halt.

LOL. I thought that only happened in Britain? Every time there's snow and our roads snarl up with traffic, someone in the media is guaranteed to say, 'Well, it would never happen in Europe'. You're crushing my illusions of German efficiency, here.

The rumors of German efficiency are greatly exaggerated... I just have to take a look in the basement and watch the handymen's daily hijinks. The incompetence displayed is really something.

re: snow: We don't get a lot of it so when we do get it, the traffic authorities are totally out of their depth. Say, one centimeter of fallen snow translates to one hour of slippery roads and busses not running. On the first day anyway, after that, they normally have it under control. As long as it's just a few centimeters. Otherwise, all bets are off.

'Well, it would never happen in Europe'

'Europe' cracks me up.

Oh dear gawd, Cakewrecks! It makes me feel almost as a cakemaker made of fail. Almost. My cakes uniformly look like shit. :P

Isn't it interesting how artists have a little clock inside that goes off when it's time for a job to be done and out of the house? It must be nature's way.

Yeah. It's like an alarm clock with countdown sequence that's always running in the back of ones mind. And this time I think it's particularly insistent because if everything had been going according to my schedule (which editor lady messed up by not responding with feedback for 16 days (&%$*ยง!)) I would be done by now. I just hope, really really hope, that their won't be any requests for changes. She's been rather nitpicky regarding some of the sketches, and really, the thought of going back in and doing even minor changes makes me want to throw stuff.

How are you doing? Haven't seen you around much; was gonna mail you once I'm done with this.

I was scarce online because I didn't want to be bitching and crying and panicking all over the place. :) It's been a nasty several months on the job front. Most of my clients went into a tailspin when the US market crashed and credit froze. Things seem to be loosening up again, though -- got an email from one pub offering me three books for their new season, and things looking good with a new company, etc.

And getting those dastardly warmongering Republicans out of office had a cheering effect, too. ;)
