vid recs - These went straight to my 'favorite vids' folder after the first viewing, and still love them after re-watching countless times:

Such a beautiful interplay of lyrics and clips; the song is *perfect* for Rodney. Specifially, the Rodney we see in TLM. More than a simple retelling of The Last Man, this vid adds a whole other dimension to it. Hard to describe... best watch!

The new challenge at artword sounds awesome. And challenging: Illustrative typography. And I won't have time for it this month. I'd be tempted to sign up but it would be beyond insane. I'll be lucky if I make my deadlines as it is. And there're those taxes too, which were due, haha, yesterday or so. I haven't even started. I guess I should call real soon and ask for an extension.

I'm itching to do a real quick fanart though, so I'm wondering whether I can dig out that short comic which I started for one of the flashfic challenges, on the last day of the challenge. It's already layouted after all, and simple to draw. One day, two tops. Maybe I can do that once I finish the historical book, to reward myself.

Have you seen "Another Sunday" by Elefantpaw? http://www.elefantpaw.com/vids.htm This is what happens when an anime vidder with After Effects gets hold of the source material with tongue firmly planted in cheek. The best, funniest Atlantis vid I've ever seen.

And oh yes, great vids. I download everything I can get my hands on before they disappear of YT or the net. - I get so frustrated when my links to awesome fic or vids no longer work because the files has been deleted. (Rivier's Exingencies! I almost had a heart attack.)

Same here. With fic, I print out everything anyway, so I save the printouts rather than the files. I have copies of a few fics that are completely gone from the net. *pets*

Exingencies - great fic! Sheppard as a one man army going lethal on Rodney's kidnappers, told from the POV of the kidnapper's wife. Rivier deleted her journal, but someone said it is only temporary, so I'm hanging in there. This is the third time it's happened though (Zoetrope's Saturday Dance, also mostly gone) so I'm cutting and pasting like crazy. :)

Oh. That's too bad - not that anything that Hewlett puts up on his blog doesn't appear on my flist in 3 seconds flat anyway, but fresh from the source is better.

We should be able to make an RSS feed ourselves, no? I mean, it only took me two days to put an image header on my LJ, surely this is just as easy? :)
