vid rec:
Cupid vs. McShep by [livejournal.com profile] pyrateanny
Summary: Rodney and John each call on Cupid for help, but this particular Archer of Love seems a bit inept.

Cracks me up every time I watch it. Very cute.
And Hewlett in the role of Cupid... words fail, really. :D

Found via [livejournal.com profile] wraithfodder: About.com has a nice long interview with David Hewlett

While looking for a piece of art I wanted to post, I came across the comic pages I did for that Outer Limits tie-in many (many many) years ago. Not exactly my most inspired work, but... is the detective in this scene the same guy who plays General Hammond on SG-1?

I couldn't find the artwork I set out to find in the first place. But I threw out at least three large bins filled with paper and my shelves are in a less chaotic state as a result, so it wasn't for nothing.

Back to work. Four double-spread pages, two single pages, and two vignettes left to ink (I have a constant countdown running in the back of my mind). I have reached one of those points where there seems to be no progress, and the stuff left to-do stretches before one. It would probably be wise to start coloring the half dozen pages that are already inked, to mix things up a little. I'm just usually obsessed with finishing one stage before proceeding to the next. But coloring definitely sounds way more fun right now.

Yup, Don Davis who played Wilson also played Hammond. You did a terrific job, I never watched Outer Limits, but I recognized him right away.

And great vid rec. Hilarious. *g*

Hah, I knew I wasn't imagining things.

I put these pics online about ten years ago - wow, did I not know anything about scanning images then. I'm almost tempted to scan them again properly.

I have mixed feelings about these comics because while I did the best job I could at the time, it was still hackwork. I just didn't care for The Outer Limits at all. I wanted to do X-Files. My publisher wanted to do X-Files. But their license only covered the translated American comics. It still bugs me, because I feel those X-Files comics could've been really cool. And I could've recruited Fic writers. Such a shame. Sigh.

But I am really pleased how well Hammond Wilson turned out in these.

Wow, those are gorgeous pages. I particularly like the last panel on the first page, the way the character's back is turned, and the phone conversation intergrates with the art. Nice one!

Really, you like them? Thanks. :o) (see answer to newkidfan above...)

Actually I was looking at the bunch of them yesterday and thought that some of them aren't bad at all. And there're more pics of not!Hammond. I might harvest the thing for icon background. Heh. [edited 'cause I can't type]
