So NBC are going to check at buffy.nu regularly to see if "the public responce [sic! later edited, and who edits a quote] is strong enough" to warrant a sixth season on their network. Riiiight. Not so much a prank as someone's rather transparent attempt to get more traffic, methinks. But maybe I'm just paranoid.

What this stupid kindergarten game of, "We're number one!" - "No, We're number one !!1!" all about, anyway?

Yes, as far as stand-alones go, this season has produced some classics, I agree. You're Welcome is one of my favourites, ever. I guess I just don't feel the same connection to the characters or stories overall as I used to. I think it comes down to that uneven-ness you mentioned. I'll still blub like a baby when it ends, regardless of the merits or lack of from the last season. It's still my favourite show.

It would be funny if they did a Spike spin-off. A spin-off from a spin-off - has that ever happened before?

Me, I have been enjoying the Spike/Angel relationship this season more than I thought possible. :) Really, it's starting to tickly me in a way only C/A could. And I'm loving the whole corruption/compromise theme, and the way they're deliberately mirrowing stuff that happened last season and the themes of destiny and free will...

Though I have a feeling the amulet-ex-machina might never be explained, which would irk me (unspoiled, don't wanna know).

Hm. I guess DS9 could be considered a spin-off of TNT, and Voyager of DS9?

Faith could work as well, she's a popular character, and I'd love to see Eliza Dushku in that role again.

I mean TNG, of course.

LOL. I sorta see Voyager (yay) and DS9 and TNG as spin-offs from the original, rather than one leading to the other, but I guess, since some characters sort of followed from one to the other, they could be considered that way. Good point.

I haven't seen the last part of the season of Angel yet, so I have yet to enjoy the Spike/Angel bonding. Glad I have something to look forward to!
