Tonight I had the coolest dream... something about a subway system that was more like a rollercoaster, going up and down and round and round, through basements and vaults. Apparently there wasn't enough space in that city for a regular old subway system. I don't know, it made sense at the time. Still don't know how the Goa'uld fit in there though. Anyway, this one was almost as much fun as the one in which I was flying and invisible at the same time.
Next nine panels of the comic are inked, just no time to color them right now. And, argh, I just realized that I set most of the story in the city, and that I don't really like drawing interior spaces all that much. I like to draw landscapes... canyons... caves... water. Next story will have to be set planetside!

Murder Unscripted Writers, who needs 'em?
Anti-Piracy Ad from The IT Crowd Parody of the annoying anti-piracy ad that is also to be found on my Atlantis Season 2 DVDs (fortunately I finally figured out a way to jump directly to the main menu so I no longer have to froth at the mouth whenever I pop in those DVDs.)
pic I took in our front yard yesterday:

Question for the German readers of this LJ... more accurately, German readers who are living in the North-West and would be interested in adopting a cat:
Fic recs later. Work first. *nods, in a determined way*

Well, illegal downloads or pirate DVDs do lose them revenue*. My problem is not so much with the content but with the fact that they make everyone who bought the DVD sit through the bloody ad every time they start it. Apparently in some DVD players you can't even fast-forward through it. They're missing their target audience spectacularly. It actually turns me off buying DVDs - my online downloads don't come with an annoying ad attached to it.
*Though I don't have the hint of a bad conscience when I download US series that aren't available here yet. There's a fair chance I'll buy the DVDs once they do become available. I consider online downloading as just another form of advertising. Some people will eventually buy the product, some won't... in the end the producer will make their profit.

But, hah, I was just about to complain that all my original videos aren't running any longer, since I don't have a tv and watch everything on my computer which apparently doesn't agree with the copy protection. That's when I remembered that VLC player so far has played everything I threw at it. I popped in a Video tape and, yay, it's running.

That...is actually really freaky, because I had the SAME DREAM last night. No, seriously. Subway roller coaster. Where, at our stop, there was one of those little videos they play at the end of rides like Star Tours and Back to the Future with Rodney congratulating us on completing our mission and getting us his data, while John snarked at him in the background.
Weird.

Yours didn't happen to have a part where the tracks went spiraling down on the outside of the huge basement? (At the time I didn't even wonder how a hollow space underground could be on the outside of the building.)
You get Rodney and John, I get Goa'uld... what's that about?
this is very random but...
omg how?????
I still froth at the mouth and actually a few times have downloaded files of things I _owned_ so I won't have to be subjected to this crap anymore. Any workaround would be muchly appreciated!
Re: this is very random but...
Actually my version is installed in German, but I'm assuming the buttons are named similar: start the DVD ([file] -> open medium), then go to [navigation] -> title -> DVD menu. That's it, it jumps right to the main menu.
Hate that ad!
