Well, I decided to stop throwing good money after bad and ordered a new computer instead of trying to fix a four year old one. Practically the moment I placed the order, this one started to run more or less stable again. But it can't fool me. :p I'm still getting all kinds of exotic error messages, and just tonight it crashed once more (right before the game Germany vs Poland I might add - but it came back up right away so we did have a tv picture, and btw awesome game!! *digresses*)

I remembered to make copies of everything, including all the emails and bookmarks. I have a whole 'nother bunch of bookmarked Bones fics for future rec-age; quite a few WIPs that are nearly complete. Never thought I'd say that but there's some really decent fic to be found at fanfic net, if you don't mind a little digging.
---

I also at least inked page one of the new Angel comic, but haven't found the time yet to throw some colour at it. I might finish that one book I'm working on first, because it'll be done within a week and then I can take off a couple of days without a guilty conscience.
---

Today I got a notice that one of my books (more like a booklet really) is going to come out in Chinese. That's pretty cool. :o)

Chinese is all kinds of cool.

And I think FF.net has a higher proportion of good fic for Bones because it attracts an older crowd.

Chinese! Very nifty.

I hope your old computer lasts as long as it has to and that the new one is t3h awesome.

Chinese, very cool.
Think about that if you sell one book to every Chinese, and you get a euro for every book, then would you become many billionaire!!! omg.!!

I want stats for your new computer (probably a guy thing), so I can compare it, to my future pc, which I will get as soon, as I have the money, the time, and when I can get Intels new processor generation Conroe. It should ship here late in July, and the pre benchmarks looks excellent

Haha. Ah, what a nice dream. Reality looks... uh, different. :)

With pleasure. The processor is nothing you'd give a second glance; I told the guy that my current one is still good enough since I don't do computer games, so he recommended me an inexpensive Intel Celeron 3,06 GHz. Since I do some Photoshopping, I'm more interested in RAM, so it's gonna have 1,5 gig. Eek, now I hope the processor won't slow it down, so I can actually use all that super-cool RAM. Ah well.

120 gig HD, LJ DVD-Writer, 8 USB-2 (I was so sick of never having enough USB ports). Oh, and a Sapphire RADEON 256MB VIVO graphic card (vivo 'cause my computer doubles as a tv unit) Hopefully this card will be compatible with XP; my current one isn't which makes for an unstable system from the getgo.

Very nifty.

Yeah, very nifty. I hope I'll get a copy.

That's the cool thing... when it comes to computers, after four years the new computer is always t3h awesome. When I got the last one, DVD writers were near inaffordable and now? 40 Euro. I was a bit grumpy to throw out something that, until recently, worked perfectly fine. But I decided to make the best of it, disembowel this one, and put all the good parts into my even older computer, which is still working fine. It's always good to have a fully functional spare computer at hand.

*nod* Quite possibly. It's interesting.

I was so burned from the stuff I saw in the Buffy section that I was pleasantly surprised to find good quality fic there at all. Also, in case of Buffy/Angel, the few goodfics you'd find there would already be posted on LJ,the BFA, or other archives. But a lot of the Bones writers seem to post exclusively to ffn. Is there even another archive where a significant number of Bones fic gets posted? I would like to extend my hunting grounds, but google yields nothing.

Yay for your new computer! It's great that the old one lasted long enough that you could get all your stuff off in good order. (and watch the game ;)

Yeah, I'm glad that this harddrive crash happened in slow motion... Most of the data were already saved - I make regular updates of important stuff like my taxes and business mail - but I suddenly realized that all the pictures I've taken in the past two years were on this computer.

The game was great. I don't know, do you guys follow the world cup at all? The goal came at the last second... right in the end, during injury time (if that's what it's called). Both teams were playing really well, it was a pleasure to watch. Even more importantly, ours didn't lose steam after the first half like they did at the last world cup, they powered through till the end.

We had guests from the US here this week, who went to the game USA-what was it, I forget. I was much fun to talk English again.
