By now I'm convinced she's hiding something. The hints are just adding up. Argh, no! All this time I've been thinking how the one thing that would be worse than Ward being Hydra is Ward and Simmons being Hydra.

"You'll never have to find out." I don't like this phrasing one bit. Maybe she's not working for Hydra but she's hiding something.

And poor Fitz broke my heart in this episode.

That show, man. I've started to numb to the pain somewhat but man. I almost (almost) wish I was one of those people who bought into the negative hype in the beginning and never watched and are only getting into it now, mainlining all the eps in one week, knowing what's gonna happen. It would've hurt so much less.

I've been picking up on the same vibe, but I've not taken the time to pick through to identify specific words or actions to support. But I think you are right; Simmons is concealing something, but if she's Hydra, I'm going to cry.

She may be hiding something, but I'm 100 percent convinced she's not Hydra.

Her character has really grown on me, and so has Fitz's.

I really surprised how much Fitz has grown on me these last episodes. He used to be the one character I never quite connected with as much, but no longer.

Yeah, Jemma is likely not Hydra, but there's something going on. Hopefully something less sinister than Hydra-allegiance.

Yeah, there's been a really weird vibe from her for the last few episodes...
I've had enough darkness and betrayal, I'm ready for some healing. :/

Now that they have made it so explicit, I doubt another turnaround from the core team. But her words made me sit up and take note too.

Could be something romance-related that's just parsed through the two of them being awkward science twins? Simmons telling Fitz, basically, that she'll never leave him?

When Victoria Hand was demanding that Simmons and the other agent declare allegiance to HYDRA - she didn't say a word and didn't have a chance to because the other guy acted. That's when I became suspicious. One of the fic bunnies I keep trying to plant is why did Jemma want to go into the field> From previous episodes we know it was her idea and Fitz followed because he didn't want to be separated. ...but maybe there was an alternative motive

Now after the scene at the pool, I'm questioning that. If she is HYDRA, she pulled off a boldfaced lie to Fitz. It makes me wonder if she's got some other affiliation. She is so suited for AIM -- bet she'd even look cute in a bee keeper outfit -- I can't believe this show hasn't shown us the bee keepers yet! And AIM would make sense on so many other levels -- she's got a decent shot at recruiting Fitz for AIM

I noticed that. And there are a number of other suspicious-soundling lines from her. (Suspicious at least if you're in a state of hyper-paranoia, like this fandom is right now. ;)

Yep, I'm now thinking that she's with some rivaling organziation, but probably not Hydra. AIM would make some sense (well, because of the science angle, going by my limited knowledge of comics canon). Or maybe she got in touch with Rising Tide because she thinks the serum needs to belong to all of mankind.
