Holy shit, I'm getting back 2000 Euro in taxes. Fucking A!
(I told them over a year ago that my income was going down considerably and could they please not have me make these quarter-yearly advance payments but nooo. Anyway, that money's coming home now. Quite a relief.)

Yay! What great news. (In my experience they *never* lower the advance payments, not even when the person has been dead for just most of the quarter, having died early on during it, before the payment was due. I found out that they hound you as relative for the tax advance payments even when you don't yet have access to the deceased accounts and money because the other authorities haven't done the paperwork yet. You'll have to somehow pay the taxes anyway... so I'm not surprised at all that merely saying your income was much less made no impression.)
