PSA

Quick heads up, Delicious is now displaying users' real names under their pseuds.

eta: I simply went and made all links private instead of deleting my account. There are too many useful meta links and I hate getting used to new sites. Fortunately my lj name was already taken when I signed up and my pseud there conveys zero information.

eta2: I hear you can also change your name, I didn't look into how to do that though.

What a boneheaded move that was. Diigo has at the top of their entry page: "Transition from Delicious to Diigo ~ Instruction & FAQ"

I can really recommend Pinboard. Well worth the one time fee. I switched with the previous Delicious disaster. I had tried Diigo and migration worked somewhat (it didn't migrate any tags over their limits), but they offer less tags than I need and I didn't like their interface as much either.

Thanks for the heads up! I really hate it when sites completely disregard their users' privacy. Not even a warning that they were going to do that!

I changed my name on there (fortunately I'd only used the first letter of my surname, not my full surname) - it's easy to do under settings.

I'll second the rec for Pinboard - I went over there last December, and I don't regret it.

Pinboard is wonderful, I completely agree. Wish more folks used it, though.

Me too. It's never gained the popularity of delicious, sadly, probably because of the start up cost, so I don't find it quite as good for searching for new fics, but still better than delicious has become.
