Joss Whedon's letter to Angel fans
... I feel a wave of nostalgia coming on.
"..and she'll have a love interest, a mysterious stranger named Angel who turns out to be a vampire! But a vampire with a soul, cursed to walk the night in eternal remorse for his evil deeds.."
No wait. That's way too cheesy. Nobody will ever buy that.
Such were my thoughts as I developed the TV show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." I knew Angel wouldn't (forgive the pun) fly. I was frantic. And then something wonderful happened.
I totally didn't come up with anything better."
I *heart* Joss Whedon.
My own favourite moments from the show:
o Home, Angel staring through the window at Connor and his new family.
o Reprise, when Angel rides that elevator down to the home office... and then the door opens.
o Smile Time, the whole damn episode.
o Origin, all the memories flushing back - that was one well-done montage.
o And Connor, looking Angel in the eye, saying, "I learned that from my father."
o The ending of You're Welcome. Even though it made me bawl for an hour.
o Buffy repeating, "I'll never forget." IWRY is far from my favourite ep, but that scene got me.
o Apocalypse Nowish, Cordy and Con... kidding. The fourth act, epic fight with the Beast. Very cool.
o Angel, singing karaoke. And Cordy saying, "That man will do anything to save a life."
o Angelus in a cage, playing the fang gang like puppets.
o NFA, pretty much every single moment of it.
...
*Sigh*
At least Bones is on tonight. Or, in my case, hopefully tomorrow night.
