(no subject)

I avoided my friendslist all day so as not to get spoiled for Bones by accident. (No episode spoilers whatsoever in this post)

Poking the computer to see if the dl is done, squinting around spoilers... wow, I missed this. And I find I'm not just watching for DB's character - okay, I'm mostly watching for DB's character, but they're honestly all interesting. I really hope this show stays around for a while.

(For some reason the download took much longer than last week. How come? I was happily sucking at the file along with over 3000 other leeches where last week there were only 16, but I thought that as far as bittorrent goes, the more the merrier?)

Still too early for fanfic, eh? Funny, this is actually the first time I'm interested in a show from the beginning. Normally I discover a fandom five years into it or so. Which has the advantage that there's five year's worth of fanfic to dive into. This... is a bit like coming early to a party and finding that the buffet isn't laid out yet.

Unrelated - finished another book today. Strangely enough I wasn't feeling wiped or exhausted like usual when applying the finishing touches. Weird. Maybe because the last book I illustrated was so draining, with the hundreds of little figures and historical details, that this one was a walk in the park by comparison. I'm done a week early too, now I have, it appears, a few weeks off and I don't even feel I need them. I have a few comic pages to do... attend the Book Fair, that's fairly time-consuming... but then I just gotta wait for the next script. I must find myself a project in the meantime.

First of all, I'm thinking about cleaning the apartment from floor to ceiling. The roommate likes the idea, too. ;)

Where do you download from?

This week, from mininova (http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=bones). IIRC last week I was finding the torrent via torrentreactor (which seems to be down right now, can't get a link.)

Yeah, I already use mininova. There's a bunch of new shows that aren't at that site, tho.

Thanks.

I sorta feel that way about Lost, though I'm verrrry far from feeling the bite of the fic bunny yet.

That IS weird! Maybe you're coming down with something. ;) Seriously, though, yay for time off. Laze about! Take pics at the book fair! (so wish I could go...)

I would've thought there's a ton of Lost fic out there, given that everyone's talking about it. I've watched the first couple eps of Lost (I just typed 'Lust', heh), it's not bad but it's failing to grab my attention. But still, it's the only thing since Angel I was even remotely interested in watching. Thought that Jack is really a bit too saintly for my taste.

But Bones... I'm in love, man. I thought the second ep was much less rocky than the pilot - not perfect, but all the good things from the pilot were there, plus the pacing was well-timed and the dialog was snappy. If Fox cancels this prematurely, I'll be seriously bummed.

So far I've seen just two Bones fics, and they're both Angel x-over WIPs (and could use a no-nonsense beta).

Ha, a preliminary version of the script came in the mail today. That was fast! I heart that author. Now I can start early and I'll be much more flexible (deadline pressure in December sucks, with christmas and everything).
