Inspired by the Avengers I took our bow out of storage today and dusted it off. Okay, no, we've been talking about doing that for weeks. It's been so long, I had to consult Youtube to figure out how to fix the bowstring. Shooting arrows is a logistical challenge here, because the only range is on the far side of town. Fortunately there's a large patch of grass not too far away that is suitable; the grass is kept so short that so far we've lost only one arrow.
Though I think I should wait another week before trying any kind of activity 'cause I've been such a klutz this last month, with my luck I'd probably shoot myself in the foot if I tried anything now. Just now I went running, ran across that tiny narrow stone bridge with the hole in the middle that I've run across like a gazillion times before... but today I slipped and fell right into the hole, hit my shin in the exact same spot I hit it when I was fifteen. So much for that run. :/ Had to walk back (and by walk I mean limp.) At least the last time it healed pretty fast... then again I was fifteen...
At least all the pollen is gone.
And we're gonna watch Captain America tonight. :)

Drive-by comment
Might just take a nudge to wake it up ...
Re: Drive-by comment
I took the bow out for a spin yesterday and it's not quite like riding a bike, but it was all coming back to me. I was just shooting arrows without aiming, to get a feel for the bow again. If it stays dry today I'm gonna shoot a couple more arrows later. Don't want to overdo it at first.
But one thing I noticed is that with all the climbing, strength is no longer a factor so I can concentrate much better on technique. That's pretty cool!
