Today I put the finishing touches to the final page of a project that has been dragging on and on. And on. I'm so relieved. Bit wiped, though.
(edited to snip picture)
Historical scenes are fun to draw, but it can be a real pain in the butt too, with the hundreds of details one has to research first. The page I did today (not this one) was a crowded market scene, which I saved for last... I hate drawing crowds.

Work on the new BBF archive is finally progressing smoothly. I don't want to jinx it, but I think I got it running bug-free now and the layout is complete. Almost hundred stories have moved into their new home. 97 to be exact (eta: 311 to go...). I love this auto-archive software!

If you want to take a look around, let me know of any kock-ups you notice. I suspect in some of the first stories I put up (that would be fics by authors A-C), I overlooked a few formatting problems, namely missing line breaks; I'll need to fix those before we officially open the archive.

Several of my stories were archived (under the author name 'Lesley' but they're not there when I checked out the link. Are they still to go in the new format?

It's lovely:)
He, thanks. It's rather colourful but I coulnd't talk my clients out of that (they wouldn't go for a more realistic, if dreary, medieval look.)

Are they still to go in the new format?

Yeah, everything in the old archive will be moved to the new one before we start updating with new recs. So far I got 97 stories up, but there are over 300 left to go. I believe I'll be tackling L next :).

Oh, it's that one! That lovely complex beginning I saw at San Diego. I loved it then, and it knocks my socks off now. Gorgeous!

Gosh, what technical assurance and sunny good humor. I love your work.

Glad you like it, too. I'm very happy with the result, though the final page was a bit rushed, I admit... at one point I simply declared it finished and that was it. I could have spent hours more adding details, but the page was driving me nuts already and besides, most people never even see the difference. I just put the whole thing in the mail. whoo. Day off!

My graphics tablet is here, too! It arrived a few weeks ago, acutally, but I was too busy to install anything. I got a wireless graphire tablet. Not as large as I hoped, but the next larger one would have been 500 €, and I remember you saying that size doesn't matter so much here anyway.

We also got a DSL connection now... at least we will have once I have everything connected. And I bought 512 more MB RAM. And those books on photoshop colouring. Now I just have to learn to use all of that.

Thank you! Stubborn it was, and it was a good feeling dropping it in the mail today.

Heh, glad to hear that :) I feel almost a little guilty because a whole bunch of people added this journal when I posted the comic... only, I get to post something like that only once in a blue moon. If only comic art didn't take so long.

I slacked off today as well. Well, I went outside because I got (ta-daa!) time off, plus the summer came back (finally).

You're gonna love using the new archive software! The more I use it and tinker with it, the more I like it. I must remember to feedback Shalott, the lady who wrote the source code.
