Happy holidays everyone. And a belated happy solstice!
My parents sent me the link to this Youtube clip - it's really worth watching: Christmas Food Court Flash Mob, Hallelujah Chorus
The roommate and I went for a long walk through the freshly fallen ((sigh)) snow today, and I brought my camera. And for once the photos turned out nice, yay.

"<-- close-up detail
It's a stalagmite that grows in front of our door, fed by one of the icycles on the roof.

Still-life with frozen thistle and icycles

(we removed most of the icycles from the roof so they won't fall on unsuspecting visitors' heads, and stuck them in the snow in our front yard.)

(This is the route where I normally go running. I'll never understand people who prefer to live downtown.)
The intersection in front of our house. Until recently the entire city looked like that, but when the citizens started to demand that heads roll our PTB apparently summoned a snow plough or something, and now the main roads are clear again. It's a Christmas miracle. ;)

Here, by the way, is the hedgehog enclosure, with a hopefully hibernating hedgehog inside...
