Yesterday I had the most relaxed Christmas Eve. I don't celebrate the holiday but everybody else had gone to visit their family and I had the house to myself, just me and the cat. And the fish, the snakes, the frogs, the lizards and the furry spider upstairs, but they're all very quiet housemates. I love my roommates, I have the best roommates one can wish for but having the entire house for myself just for one day was so relaxing. Ahhhhh. :O)

I did a couple of drawings, and then I went running in spite of the fact that it was already dark out 'cause I'd woken up at 1p.m. and missed my daylight window. Turns out my Vibram barefoot shoes are perfect for running in the dark. You have a much steadier step. It's quite interesting how the feet react automatically to little bumps on the ground and balance it out, much better than when one is running in traditional shoes with cushy soles.

Today I set my alarm to 11a.m. because three hours of daylight is really not enough. And I'm gonna have to spend the day cleaning, my parents are coming for dinner tomorrow (goose, yum. Though is it still dinner if you eat it at noon?) and I couldn't let them in the way it looks now.
Yeah. I should do that now...

I was just messing around with Photoshop (once again trying to computer-color some ink drawing of mine, when will I learn) when I found out that the 'poster edges' filter has gotten a pretty decent upgrade between my old PS7 and CS4. I was running a screen cap through the filter and even the first result looks pretty cool, I thought. witness )
Okay, not perfect but that was just after 2 minutes of tinkering. I bet you could get some nice effects with that! Maybe even use it to combine screen caps with traditional art. I'm feeling adventurous, I must try that out some more. :)
