fic rec [SGA]: Night Ops by friendshipper

Finished project. Barring complications in litho - which I'm halfway anticipating because I worked on matte film instead of paper, and those guys in litho really don't like surprises - anyway, barring those (*crosses fingers*) I can take a few days off. Now I'm allowed to post again, and I don't know where to start.

Okay, I'll start with this fic rec, because, a couple days later and after repeated reading, it still makes me smile like a cheshire cat: friendshipper wrote my livelongnmarry fic. I asked for Rodney and Jennifer offworld, possibly with UST, or more. :)

Summary: Colonel Sheppard has been in the hands of the Nolari for just over six hours. They are not known for treating their prisoners well. When a rescue mission goes FUBAR, McKay and Keller find themselves racing a ticking clock to save Sheppard's life on a lethal, frozen world.

A fun, suspenseful action-adventure story, in which Rodney and Jennifer get thrown into a combat situation and have to team up and save the day. I love the vivid descriptions, the Keller POV, and the nice, tingly UST between our two reluctant heroes.

I'm really delighted that I lucked out and won Sholio in the auction - I've had a soft spot for Rodney/Jennifer ever since 'Trio', be it friendship or ship, and that pairing is still somewhat the red-headed stepchild of fandom. I've been looking for stories just like this. This would make a great episode, too.

(The only other McKeller adventure fic I can think of is tipper_green's Figurative Hell and Literal High Water, which is also a great read.)
