Whooot!!! I finished coloring the sixth of twelve double spread pages. Yeah, baby! Finally the project feels manageable. Six more. I think I could almost do it in two weeks if I didn't break at all, three if I take it easy. Just hoping there won't be any more unexpected complications. *fingers crossed*
(It would've been nice if my daylight lamp hadn't chosen today to break and instead tried to hang on for two or three more weeks. Trying to color at night without daylight spectrum is not something I ever want to do again. That can lead to some really unpleasant surprises come daybreak. I once unwittingly colored a grassy area neon-green.)
I'll do my fannish post later, I have a ton of recs I wanna share. First of all
fma_ladyfest has gone live, and there are some really great stories and art to enjoy. I also have some Chuck to link, and I think some Stargate as well. And I have hedgehog pics. :)
But first I must vacuum my room and do various other housework because, yuck.

I can't even imagine working without one. It's not just that the color spectrum is off, it's also so much easier on the eyes.
I'm in awe of your productivity!
I'm just doing it because I signed a contract and have to, believe me. ;) I'm really really looking forward to goofing off and being lazy again.

I once tried the ultra-low-budget solution to just put a full spectrum daylight energy saving bulb into my regular old desk lamp, but that was a mistake. The light was okay, and it was bright enough too, but even a short bulb of these was slightly longer than the original reflector bulbs intended for the lamp. I was prepared to live with the horrid look, but didn't take into account the risks of lamp movement. So rather soon I moved the lamp on its arm without taking too much care, and the exposed (and surprisingly fragile!) bulb bumped into something hard and promptly broke. So then I not only lost my investment of €7 for the energy saving bulb without using it for any significant time, but also had to deal with a bunch of annoying tiny glass splinters all over my untidy desktop, and worry about the mercury in these things, and being careful to find all pieces and ventilate the room and all that crap.

I bought a new lamp at Boesner. It cost around 80 Euro; considering that Boesner has wholesale prices it seems like the prices at Pro Idee are fairly civil. Their design looks nicer than that of my new one... if I had the time I would've gotten it there, but I needed an instant solution. Well, it's not pretty but at least my room is bright again.
