fic rec (SGA) - Firepower by penknife

fic rec:
Firepower by [livejournal.com profile] penknife
gen; PG; Rodney plus team; 5,000 words
summary: How Rodney stopped worrying and learned to love his P90.

A tremendously enjoyable fic that captures the season one vibe perfectly. I love the look at the team dynamic and Rodney's development as a character. The voices are spot-on.

I got my cliché bingo card :)

Looks promising. Think I already know which line I'll be aiming for.

I kinda wanna use this challenge to try and get a few ficlets written, get my feet wet with the whole prose thing, which is very new and scary and, well, I have no idea if I can even do it... but it's nice to know that the rules allow art too, so I can always resort to that.

(Does time loop count as time travel, I wonder... [eta: ah, time loop gets its own square. wah.])

I'm currently reading my way through a stack of printed-yet-unread fic. The stack is literally one foot high... which is awesome because I have TIME. :) After months and months of working almost non-stop, I finally have spare time again. It's a good feeling, I must say. Next one on my list is a story that I actually printed out on July 2, 2007... (which is the night I started reading SGA *is nostalgic*) it's about time that I finally get around to reading it! All kinds of new fic keep getting in the way.

Also, I'm back to work on the comic. I finally came up with a layout for page six that I'm happy with, and the inking is almost done. I might have that page finished tomorrow night. The other remaining pages are partly done, so I hope the whole comic will be finished in, hm, two weeks or so...
