Book is finished. Still needs cover, but since that cover still needs feedback, I can dedicate my time to fanart once again. I have three pages of comic to do, plus one scene that I already have mapped out in my head, and then there's still that one scene from Night Ops I want to illustrate... I've done two sketches, but it's not quite right... it's missing something. I think that one needs a large format and a totally different medium. Like pastel chalk. On the small format I can't get the expressiveness I want. I'm not an expressive kind of artist anyway; I'm a storyteller. I find it surprisingly hard to transfer my own emotions onto the paper. Usually I compartmentalize to a large degree when I illustrate a story... get in the characters' heads, not my own.
Pastel chalk on wrapping paper, that might work... hm.
I made accounts at twitter and delicious. (I'm astrid_v at both; bloody name squatters.) I don't think I'll use twitter much for posting, more to follow a few people. But the delicious thing is really handy; I was losing track of my own browser bookmarks and with added descriptions it's a lot clearer. I've started to use it for private bookmarks, too.
