misc. musings, and a fic rec

Slowly emerging from lurkdom here... >.< Some projects are just a joy to work on from beginning to end; this isn't one of them. So much content to draw that I don't have as much time to focus on details as I'd like. Frustrating, and tiring. Kind of makes me feel more like a drawing automaton than an artist. Anyway, I finished 19 double-spread pages; 5 to go, plus cover art. I have till the end of the month, and while my original plan was to try and finish early, I changed it to "screw that!". I'll take my time with those pages.

Status report on the comic: Page six is almost finished and page five is already inked as well. I hope I'll have them ready for posting soon; depends on how well I progress with my work.

I LOVED the last two SGA eps. (My thoughts on this week's ep can be found in [livejournal.com profile] friendshipper's post here)

fic rec:
Or Something Like It by [livejournal.com profile] semivowel
McKay/Sheppard; R; ~7700 words
It turns out Sheppard’s physically unharmed, just doped out of his mind on Pegasus Galaxy truth serum. And since the rescue party arrives 35 minutes later, Rodney down-grades the entire experience to a mild food-poisoning equivalence class.

Semivowel's oversharing Sheppard is hilarious, and completely in character. Great character voices. A pleasure to read.

Check out her mckay/sheppard tag; all her fic is great reading and has been on my to-rec list forever. (So much fic. So little time.)

Oh, thank you for this rec! I'm bookmarking to read later when I have time. I read the first few paragraphs, and it looks fantastic. I don't know how I missed it -- but then, with so many fics every day, I do get overwhelmed and flail around sometimes, and also don't know what I'm going to like.:)

Thanks for reccing "Or Something Like It". So, so fun! And I totally agree about the character voices. :)
