“Oh, Natasha’s moved in?” Steve asked, sounding pleased. “Excellent, I didn’t realize that was today.”Adorable fic. :o)
“Can we focus on the more important fact that she’s currently breaking into my lab?” Tony asked, pointing an accusing finger at the screen. When a second figure appeared on the screen, he let out an annoyed squawk. “With backup?”
He wasn’t petulant... he wasn’t, but he was more than reasonably annoyed at being left behind. And maybe he was a little worried. Nat was a really good agent, maybe the best, but he was her partner, they were a double act, you didn’t get one without the other. Except apparently you did.
She stood up, ruffled his hair. “If it makes you feel any better, I’m going to babysit-slash-probably-seduce Tony Stark, which might be the most annoying job ever.”
Alone, Clint stared at the paused game without seeing it. “I could seduce Stark,” he told the empty room.
Snippet:
- Pepper sleeps naked
- It’s very nice
- She has freckles everywhere
- That’s very nice too
- If you play connect-the-dots with the freckles on her back, you can draw a satanic pentagram
- Pepper does not find that as funny as Tony does
Walsh looked very earnestly at Steve. “This is a terrible idea. I am having difficulty telling you how bad an idea this is.”
“The Avengers need a Hawkeye right now. You’re the option.”
“I am a cop.” The vehemence in Walsh’s voice caused Steve to rock back on the diner stool. “I will get someone killed if you parade me out as being Hawkeye. I am not...” He shook his head and glared. “No.”
Natasha Romanova lets him live the first time they meet because she can’t believe her competition is carrying a quiver.
“I will not kill Robin Hood,” she tells him as she leaves him lying on the concrete floor of a warehouse in Trieste, a knife in his thigh and a cut in his forehead that keeps flooding his eye with blood. She’s holding his Glock in her hand. “Even a bad Robin Hood such as you.”
