Mini Bio

Mild-mannered kids' book illustrator by day, fanartist by night. This journal is mainly to post fanart and for fanfic-, vid-, and fanart recs. Sometimes I babble about my life. Once in a blue moon some meta may pop out.

linking: I'm fine with anyone linking to this journal, or any unlocked entry within. As far as I'm concerned if it's unlocked, it's public and fair game. (Just don't mention this journal in connection with my name if you happen to know it.)

friending: I'm trying to keep my friends list at a manageable size; please don't be offended if I don't friend back. Almost all of my posts are public. Feel free to friend, de-friend, and re-friend this journal as you like, no need to ask first.

allergies: rye pollen, milk, and character bashing. Particularly if the character in question happens to be female; for some odd reason they usually are. Don't even think about bashing Jennifer Keller or Sam Carter on my LJ. Which brings me to

banning: Fandom has taught me to use killfile and ban_set liberally. It sucks, but there you go. There are a number of people who apparently have problems respecting that others like a character they hate. If I see someone bash female characters at every opportunity, no matter how out of place (say, in fic comments) I might just go with a preemptive ban. I don't see why I should have to feel anxious about getting thoughtless, dismissive, or hateful comments whenever I post about a female character I love. I do not want to prepare myself to defend the gals and get into a lengthy argument whenever I just want to have a moment of squee. Or, to say it with dsudis's words: FUCK YOU, SHE'S AWESOME.

fanfic: My guilty pleasure. Except without the guilt. I love longish genfic, but if well written, I'll read pretty much any genre (with the exception of RPF; won't touch that with a ten foot pole). My current fandom is Stargate Atlantis.
