Hey internet, I finished two double spreads today. Granted, one of them consisted only of two little vignettes but, mustn't be sticklers. Still counts :P. Seven down, eight to go. Keeping all available fingers crossed that I'm not gonna get any revisions for this one because, really, I'm running on reserve fuel. But if all goes well, I can have this one finished in two weeks. Two weeks, that's doable.
While I'm here...

Insta-rec:
The Guy Who Came in From the Cold by [livejournal.com profile] 01100100
gen with a touch of het; PG-13; Imaginary!Carter/McKay + McKay/Markov; 4,933 words
Spoilers: Stargate SG-1's 48 Hours.
Summary:: Rodney is sent to Siberia where he learns to thaw out a little.
“This is it?” he complains, getting nothing but an indifferent and grim look from a man of indeterminate and completely irrelevant military rank as he turns away. “Oh, well, thank you. I always wondered what living in the gulag would be like.”

I adore this story! A wonderful fic about Rodney coming to terms with his exile in Siberia: funny, insightful... and effortlessly reconciling that jerk from 48 Hours with our McKay.

It's because of this fic that I didn't get to sleep until well after sunrise.

Catalysis by [livejournal.com profile] chandri (story in one part at WB)
Characters: John, Rodney, Jeannie, Kaleb, Madison, with the Atlantis crew in minor roles.
Pairing: John/Rodney; Rating: R, Spoilers: Through Spoils of War; Category: Angst, h/c; Length: 60,000 words
Summary: After Rodney is held hostage on a trading mission, he starts to slowly fall apart. When he won't admit anything's wrong, he's sent back to Earth to recover, and it's up to John to pick up the pieces.

Rodney. PTSD. I literally couldn't put it down. And I'm not even a huge fan of Angst.

Grace Kelly by [livejournal.com profile] dkwilliams (diana@slashcity.com)
Pairing: McShep (could be friendship), Sheppard/Various Women; Format & Size: 30MB DIVX

Why don't you like me, why don't you like me?!" wonders Rodney. Heh. Another one of my favorite Atlantis vids... funny and charming. I really like that song, too.

You know what I'm craving? Fic with some nice McKay/Keller interaction... something in the vein of Tipper's Figurative Hell and Literal High Water. Why, oh why, do so few people want to write that? I'd happily take McCarter, too! Just re-watched 48 Hours and GUP... I love the chemistry those two have. Why do I always have to pick those fringe pairings for OTPs, I wonder.

Today I finally found a xerox machine that can handle the specific paper and format I need for my current project. It sure would've been nice to find that out a few weeks ago, before I inked the whole bunch over my lightbox. But at least now I can fix mistakes without having to re-draw whole pages. I managed to successfully copy one page that had a pretty glaring mistake on it. So, I'm thrilled. And feeling oddly accomplished.

Thought about watching the football game tonight (it's tonight, right?) but I think going to the sauna instead would be an even better idea. Thursday I was the only one who showed up for Yoga class... apparently everybody else was glued to the tv. Private Yoga class. :)
Anyway, enough with the procrastinating...
